Happy Birthday…to Us: Celebrating a Year of Umgås

It’s time to blow out the candles, er, candle.

This time last year, we launched Umgås, an online destination to celebrate Swedish life and culture in the United States. As you may know, the word umgås doesn’t have a direct Swedish-to-English translation but loosely means to spend time together, hang out or mingle.

We’re humbled and honored that so many of you have taken the time to hang out with us. And we’ve enjoyed getting to know so many wonderful people over the past year and sharing their stories.

In short, we can’t thank you enough for spending time with us.

Over the next few days, we’ll recap some of the more than 250 stories we’ve posted, ranging from our most popular to our favorites.
