Tove Lo Is Just As ‘Bad As The Boys’ With New Album, ‘Sunshine Kitty’

The unconventional and provocative Tove Lo is back with her fourth studio album, “Sunshine Kitty.” The raunchy album will be released in just over a month and contains many sure-to-be hits.

“It’s filled with songs about naive love, teen crushes, future fears and being a vulnerable weirdo,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Sunshine Kitty” comes almost two years after Lo’s third studio album “Blue Lips,” which was released two years ago and made Rolling Stone’s 20 Best Pop Albums of 2017.

Lo is no stranger to collaborating with artists. In fact, she has been featured on various hit singles like “Close,” by Nick Jonas and “Heroes (We Could Be),” by Alesso. For her fourth album, she decided to collaborate with a few different artists including American rapper, Jax Jones, and Australian-British singer, Kylie Minogue.

Lo followed the news of her upcoming album with the single, “Bad as the Boys,” accompanied by a lyric music video, which features Alma, a Finnish pop star. Together, they sing about the ups and downs of a summer fling where they learn that women can be just as cold-hearted as men in relationships.

The lyric music video resembles a grainy, low-budget home-recording of the two women with the lyrics appearing on the screen in karaoke format. In the video, Lo can be found singing and dancing around scaffolding while Alma sings on the beach and walks around the city. At the end of the video, Lo sings one line from the chorus in acapella.

Tove Lo’s fourth studio album will be available on all streaming platforms September 20.
