There’s nothing more satisfying than taking your fork, turning it sideways and slicing through layers of sponge cake, custard, jam, whipped cream and sweet, sweet marzipan, knowing you’re about to inhale one of the greatest flavor combinations known to humans: Princess Cake.
Every third week in September, Swedes everywhere celebrate Princess Cake week. And while last year, we were brave and decided to make our own cake, we thought twice about it this year and decided we would just grab one from a bakery nearby.
