Shopping To Wind Down Your Summer HolidayAugust 30, 2018
The last holiday of the summer is here. Some will enjoy one last trip to the beach, lake or pool. Others may take in a baseball or football game or soccer match. And still others are looking forward to one last cookout.
Our team will be doing all that and a bit more… shopping.
Here are a few things on our list as summer inches closer to fall.
Swedish Hasbeens for 70 percent off
While warm days may be numbered this year for wearing clogs, that’s not stopping us for shopping for next year. And what’s better than Swedish Hasbeens for up to 70 percent off? Its Summer Sale is still going on, and you can score $249 clogs for $74.70 (and other clogs for as low as $50.70). We’re eyeing the Monika ($74.70) and the warm yellow Gullan ($74.70).
Fjällräven and Acne Studios Collaborations
While we’ll have to wait until Sept. 6 to place our orders, we’re stoked about a Fjällräven first – a collaboration. Fjällräven and fellow Swedish brand Acne Studios announced a collaboration that will debut on Aug. 30, giving us a week to think about what we want to buy.
Happy Socks + Wiz Khalifa = Happy Customers
Speaking of colabs, we’re totally into the Happy Socks/Wiz Khalifa limited edition items that just launched. While the socks go for $14, we’re thinking of going for the gift box for $42.
Fall in Stockholm
We’re looking into a trip to Sweden before it gets too cold. We’ve been able to find some great flights in mid-October, including: $320 from Baltimore/Washington to Stockholm on WOW Air (Oct. 18-24); $320 from New York to Stockholm on WOW (Oct. 25-31); $392 from San Francisco to Stockholm on Iceland Air (Oct. 18-24); $382 from Boston to Stockholm on WOW (Oct. 18-24); $320 from Chicago to Stockholm (with a 19-hour layover in Reykjavík) on WOW (Oct. 15-21).
It’s never to early to start shopping for the holidays, and we’re looking into some Holiday Aquavit from Gamle Ode ($29.99 – note, unless you’re near Minneapolis, you’ll have to order from an online retailer listed on its site) and a Holiday Gift Pack from Old Ballard Liquor Co. ($60-$85). We might even splurge for a few bottles of Sjoeblom Winery’s 2001 Chauvignon Reserve ($89).
