Smörgåsbord + Beer = SmörgåsBeer, And Philly: We Are Here For It

Beer, lawn games and a sprinkling of Swedish history? Sounds right up our alley.

This Saturday, July 27, Philadelphia’s American Swedish Historical Museum is hosting its eighth annual SmörgåsBeer event, a family-friendly event featuring regional and international brews, Swedish trivia, games and more.

“The event is so great because it brings together American culture and Swedish culture in a really nice way,” said Jennie Skynas, marketing assistant for the museum. “People attending SmörgåsBeer can enjoy drinks from local breweries, but also try Nordic beverages and eat traditional Swedish food.”

And while eating and drinking the day away sounds like an excellent time, the event also features music, dancing, lawn games and a Swedish tipsrunda, a quiz walk that takes place all around the museum. So, bring your appetite and your thinking cap!

Tickets to SmörgåsBeer are $30 in advance and $35 at the door, with a special designated driver price of $15. General admission includes a commemorative event sampling glass, drink samples, food, and museum admission.
