Scandinavian Designers Are Crushing It At Fashion Week

Scandinavian designers never disappoint.

As fashion weeks around the world are coming to an end (and are about to begin before we know it), we thought we’d round up our favorite looks from this year’s must-see Scandinavian designers. From on-the-rise brands to the OG’s, they spared nothing when it came to luxury, wear and quality.

Looking for the perfect coat or sweater? Need a silk gown that you can wear to the grocery store? Want to look like you’re pregnant with a giant pearl? We’ve got you covered.

Ganni

This husband-and-wife duo from Copenhagen design for the everyday woman, creating thoughtful garments that you would want to grab day in and day out. Inspired by their Nordic heritage, they are able to create traditional designs, the Ganni way. Speaking on the brand’s aesthetic, Creative Director Ditte Reffstrup said Ganni’s approach to design is, “without strict dogmas or rules, but with room for personality, contrasts and experimentation.” Take this beautiful, cashmere knit sweater – one of the brand’s staples – from Ganni’s show at Copenhagen Fashion Week. You can wear this to the office, a nice dinner or, as styled here, a fabulous hike in the Abisko National Park that would make even Mother Nature jealous. Basically, we need this ASAP.

Hofmann Copenhagen

Designer Heidi Hofmann has worked in the fashion industry for years with some of the world’s most famous designers. Needless to say, her experience shows when it comes to her high-quality, timeless designs. Giving us cool and sophisticated everyday classics, her unique yet approachable take on clothing is what made her stand out at this year’s Copenhagen Fashion Week. With so many amazing pieces, this deep periwinkle, printed dress caught our eye. Not only will it look great on every body shape, but it also can be styled any way you’d like it to be worn in every season.

Nhorm

Are you a leader and not a follower? Do you have trouble choosing one thing, so you just combine them all? Are you a strong, female warrior who’s unapologetically you? If you said “yes” to one or all of the above, Nhorm’s designs are for you. Long, silk gowns with asymmetrical cutouts, cashmere ponchos, matching tops and bottoms and striped cotton dresses were what was being served at Stockholm Fashion Week, and we want it all. Not to mention, the model selection was on point. Nhorm knows how to make every woman feel special.

By Malina

If you love everyday items in luxurious fabrics like silk, French lace and linen, Stockholm-based designer By Malina will have you begging for more. Romantic floral prints, easy separate pieces and outfits that will take you from day to night are meant for every occasion – the choice is yours. We’re obsessed with this look – the juxtaposition of the chic pant with the casual streetwear top is amazing. Available in-store and online, you have to experience this collection for yourself.

Future of Fashion

Have you ever dreamed that one day someone would make a dress inspired by “The Wizard of Oz” and “The Girl with a Pearl Earring?” If so, you’re welcome, we found it. The Future of Fashion, which showcased over 100 designs by graduating MA students from the Design School of Kolding and KADK in Denmark, turned the fashion world upside down by giving us a glimpse as what’s to come. We don’t know about you, but these Avant-garde creations have us pretty excited.  Are you ready, future you?
