Swe-Dishes: SwedishFreak.com’s Pinnbröd

Fall is right around the corner. And with it comes crisp, chilly air and brightly colored foliage, the perfect combination for camping.

In the spirit of post-Labor Day festivities and welcoming cooler weather, this week’s Swe-Dish is a fun and simple recipe to make on your next camping trip from SwedishFreak.com for Pinnbröd, or “stick bread.”

Ingredients

  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1-2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup water

Directions

  1. Mix together the dry ingredients.
  2. Add the water. Mix until a dough forms. The dough should not be sticky and should not crumble.
  3. Take a small piece, and roll into a thin long roll with your hands. Wrap it around a stick and cook over a fire or Swedish torch. Should slide off the stick easily when done.

Serving size: 6-10
