Swedish Music Lovers Rejoice: Lollapalooza Comes To StockholmMay 14, 2019
As summer edges closer and closer, the warmer weather means one thing for devoted music lovers: Festival season is upon us.
Soon enough, it will be time to gather in the sunshine with thousands of fellow music lovers for weekends of nonstop dancing. This year, Swedes are in for a particularly groovy weekend: Lollapalooza is coming to Stockholm!
That’s right, the iconic international music festival will make its debut in Sweden just after the Midsummer holiday during the weekend of June 28, and we couldn’t be more excited about the artists who will be performing over three nights in Gärdet.
LollaStockholm will feature some big-name headliners, including Travis Scott, Foo Fighters, Chance the Rapper and Swedish pop superstar Laleh. What’s even more exciting is that the lineup will spotlight dozens of Swedish artists such as pop artists Lykke Li and Tove Styrke, DJs Eric Prydz and Mike Perry, rock bands The Hellacopters and The Hives and many other local artists. For a full list of performers, check out the LollaStockholm website.
We’ve highlighted Swedish talent for festival season in the past, but this year, all the fun is going down right in the heart of Stockholm. We love a good excuse to go to Sweden, and this might just be the one. However, if you can’t make it across the pond for LollaStockholm but still want to catch some Swedish music during festival season, you can also catch Lykke Li at the Firefly Music Festival the weekend before LollaStockholm.
No matter how you choose to get your music fix in this summer, it’s looking to be a solid one for Swedes and Americans alike. Time undoubtedly will pass slower as we wait for LollaStockholm to commence, but that only means we have plenty of time to prepare. At the very least, you’ll feel one step closer!
