In The News: Pogo Sticks Are Making A Comeback

A Swedish startup is looking to launch a fun mode of transportation in San Francisco – and we’re already anticipating a ER visits to skyrocket. Cangoroo, based in Malmö, wants to launch sharable pogo sticks in one of the hilliest cities in the U.S.

The NY Daily News has all the details, including a statement from Cangoroo CEO Adam Mikkelsen, which reads in part: “With a lot of initial questions along the line of ‘is this for real?’, we feel the need to underline that Cangoroo is 100% real. Our choice of shared pogo sticks as our first product is a planned-out strategy in order to stand out in today’s media landscape and build an engaging brand…”

“Latte Dads” are a thing in Sweden because of a wonderful paternal leave law, and it looks like new research studying Swedish fathers is further supporting their critical role in the postpartum period. Thanks to the paternal leave policy, Stanford researchers discovered a 26 percent decrease in anti-anxiety prescriptions compared with mothers who gave birth just before the paternal law went into effect.
