Fika gets the documentary treatment

We’ve shared with you about the Swedish culture of fika and a cool shop in New York City. And we’ve highlighted some of our favorite spots to fika in Stockholm.

You could say we’re kind of obsessed with fika.

So is Fabian Schmid, a Swiss filmmaker who has created fika: let’s have coffee, a six-episode web documentary on the Swedish tradition of taking an afternoon coffee break (often times with sweet treats).

So far, he’s posted the first two episodes, and they’re quite good. Check them out to learn more about fika, including the social aspect of the tradition.
