Our Favorite Swedish Etsy Finds: Holiday, Celebrate!
The holidays are quickly approaching, and it’s not too early to break out the decorations (OK, maybe’ it’s a little early…)!
If you are looking for a one-stop shop of unique holiday items, look no further. Etsy is the online marketplace where you can find just about anything… which we did.
Here are some of our favorite Swedish holiday finds on Etsy.
Handmade Swedish Tomte
These little guys are giving us life. We’re thinking they’d be perfect standing up on the mantle next to some holly and candles, or next to the fireplace to complement a big stack of firewood. DaVinciDollDesigns, the shop that sells the bundled, bearded gnomes has other fellows to choose from, so don’t stop at just one!
1970s St. Lucia Wooden Girl and Candle Holder*
Tell us your home doesn’t need this antique St. Lucia girl, we dare you. We’re not sure if it is the woven braids or delicately painted pink cheeks, but we are in love.
Classic Swedish Glögg Spice Mix
What would Christmas be without a steamy mug of glögg? If store-bought glögg is beneath you, but making it completely from scratch is too much effort, a spice mix from Swedish Spice Company seems like a viable middle ground. The mix is poured straight out of the packet into a bottle of wine along with a little sugar.
Swedish Straw Christmas Julbock*
Standing at 14-inches high, this straw goat is a holiday staple in Sweden around Christmas. In fact, each year in Gävle, Sweden, a huge 42-foot version is erected (unfortunately last year it lasted just 24 hours before being burned down by vandals).
Dala Horse Stained Glass Ornament
This handmade dala horse ornament is a must-have. If we had an unlimited budget, we’d buy a bunch and have a dala horse-themed Christmas tree, but one will do. For now.
*The shop only has one available. First come, first served!
