We want that car: Volvo’s XC40 to debut soon
Compact crossovers are all the rage in the auto industry. Case in point: Car & Driver recently ranked compact crossovers from best to worst – there were a whopping 31 options in the U.S. market. If you’re the indecisive type, good luck.
But the compact crossover segment is about to get a little more Swedish (and day we say “sexy?”) with the introduction of Volvo’s XC40. Volvo previewed the XC40 as the Concept 40.1 last year – late last week, some media reports indicated it will debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April, but Road & Track said that wasn’t the case. Regardless, it’s coming soon!
In addition to its killer design, the XC40 likely will include three engine options: a 1.5-liter three cylinder, a 2.0-liter four-pot and a 1.5-liter plug-in hybrid.
When can American consumers expect to take the new vehicle for a spin? Estimates suggest the car will hit the U.S. market in late 2017 or early 2018. No word yet on pricing.
