In the News: ‘Borg/McEnroe’ gets 10 nominations for Guldbagge Awards
“Borg/McEnroe” starring Shia LaBeouf, Sverrir Gudnason and Stellan Skarsgård received the highest number of nominations for this year’s annual film awards in Sweden, The Guldbagge Awards. Following “Borg/McEnroe,” “The Nile Hilton Incident” was nominated for eight awards, including film, director and actor for Fares Fares, according to Variety. The ceremony is scheduled for Jan. 22 in Stockholm.

Sweden’s tech scene in 2017
Sweden has been taking the lead worldwide when it comes to innovative startups and advances in technology, and 2017 may have been its best year yet. According to Business Insider Nordic, there was almost twice as much capital invested in Swedish startups (excluding a $1 billion outlier) than 2016 with more than $1.2 billion invested into 442 companies.

Sweden, Canada will go head to head for gold at World Junior Hockey Championships
Sweden beat the U.S. team 4-2 on Thursday in the semifinals in Buffalo, advancing to the final where the team will play Canada tonight. “I think it’s the two best teams that are going to meet,” Swedish goaltender Filip Gustavsson told The Associated Press. The Canadians and Swedes have met in the gold medal game three times, with Canada winning each time. Will Sweden take home gold this year?
