Your Swedish-Themed Day At The Beach

Bugsy trunks, Nikben

The beach is calling. We can hear it, can you?

As we sit at our desks, we can’t help but dream of putting our toes in the sand and getting lost in a good book.

To get you ready for your next beach trip, we’ve compiled some of our favorite Swedish finds.

Cora one-piece, Bright Swimwear

Swimwear

You can’t hit the beach without looking your best and feeling confident.

For the ladies, we’re loving this candy-stripe one-piece from Bright Swimwear ($85). For a little more, you can’t go wrong with the Swordfish, the most popular swimsuit from Paula Beachwear ($170). We also like this fun and colorful one-piece from Happy Socks ($75). And if you’re looking for the perfect bikini – and aren’t afraid of the price – Demadly’s braided cascade black suit ($354) may be right for you.

For the gents, the Peace and Love trunks ($105) and Bugsy trunks ($105) from Nikben are sure to turn some heads. We also dig this Sharks swimsuit from OAS ($85). Happy Socks has this Palm Beach motif ($75) in long shorts in a variety of colors. And how about sporting your Swedish colors? We found these Swedish-flag board shorts ($28.21) from ETAboar on Amazon.

Sunglasses

In addition to looking good, you’ll need to protect your eyes.

We imagine ourselves looking good in these Just Tortoise shades ($99) from Chimi Eyewear, which recently teamed up with Swedish supermodel Elsa Hosk. For the guys, Chimi has the Litchi, also for $99. Nividas boasts these kickin’ Gothenburg unisex sunglasses ($89). A little pricier, the Midnight Klara from TRIWA ($175) would look fine on our faces.

Goodies for your beach bag

Minimalism is key in Swedish culture, but you’ll still need more than just your bathing suit and sunglasses.

Society 6 has some cute Swedish-themed tote bags that could be used for a day at the beach, particularly the largest-sized bags (18” by 18”) – we fell for the Scandinavian Inspired Fairy Tale ($29.99) and this Dala horse-patterned bag ($29.99). And you can’t go wrong with the Jute Beach Bag from H&M ($24.99).

For towels, IKEA just introduced its Sommar 2019 collection, and we’re chill for this popsicle beach towel ($12.99). For the guys, how about this fishing-themed towel from IKEA ($12.99)? You can get a towel to match your bag from Society 6, but we think the perfect towel is this Lagom one ($39.99), which can serve as a reminder when you’ve had just the right amount of sun, and it’s time to turn over.

Ah, the sun. This Hatfield hat ($50) from Fjällräven will keep the sun off the face and ears and is perfect for the guys. And this Raffia hat from Zara Sweden ($37) is for the ladies.

You’ll need some flip flops or sliders to avoid burning your feet on the sand. OAS’s Pina Colada flops ($35) scream relaxation and maybe a bit of laziness, for the guys. And for the gals, we’re going back to Happy Socks to match our Big Dot suit with these Big Dot sliders ($38). Not into matching? Then go with the Happy sliders ($38) instead.

Last but not least, don’t forget the sunscreen. Evy Technology is a Swedish firm that has developed a mousse that is made for sensitive skin and fun in the sun. In the States, you’ll have to search around for the product that is best for you.
